For 21 days, we are setting aside time as a church family to pray, fast, and seek the Lord together.
Take a few minutes to hear the heart behind 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting.

What Is Prayer & Fasting?
Prayer and fasting is a way of intentionally making room for God.
Prayer is how we talk to God, listen to Him, surrender to Him, and align our hearts with His.
Fasting is when we give something up for a season so that we can turn our attention more fully to the Lord. It may be food, a meal, social media, entertainment, or anything that helps you quiet distractions and focus on Him.
Fasting is not about earning God’s attention.
It is about giving Him ours.

Why Are We Doing This?
We are entering these 21 days because we believe God moves when His people seek Him.
We are praying for personal renewal, stronger families, deeper unity in our church, salvation, healing, direction, and a fresh hunger for God’s presence.
We do not want to simply go through the motions. We want to be a church that seeks the Lord first.

COMMON TYPES OF FASTS
Complete Fast
In this type of fast, you drink only liquids, typically water with light juices or broth as an option for the entirety of the fast.
Selective Fast
This type of fast involves removing certain elements from your diet. One example is the Daniel Fast, in which you remove meat, sweets, and bread from your diet and consume water and juice for fluids and fruits and vegetables for food.
Partial Fast
This fast is sometimes called the “Jewish Fast” and involves abstaining from eating any type of food in the morning and afternoon. This can either correlate to specific times of the day, such as 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, or from sunup to sundown.
Soul Fast
This fast is a great option if you don't have much experience fasting food, have health issues that prevent you from fasting food, or if you wish to refocus certain areas of your life that are out of balance. Examples include stop using social media, watching television, etc.

FAQ Section
Do I have to fast from food?
No. Some people may fast from food, but others may fast from social media, entertainment, certain drinks, sweets, or other distractions. The heart behind the fast matters more than the type of fast.
What if I have never fasted before?
That is okay. Start simple. Choose something meaningful, set aside time to pray, and let this be a step toward God.
What if I mess up during the 21 days?
Keep going. This is not about perfection. It is about pursuit.
Can my family participate together?
Yes. Families can pray together, choose a shared focus, or talk through what each person is asking God to do during these 21 days.
Should I still fast if I have health concerns?
Please use wisdom. If you have medical concerns, are pregnant, nursing, or have dietary needs, consider a non-food fast or talk with a medical professional.
For any other questions and concern, you can email Pastor Chris at chrispratt@visionchurchnc.com
